How to Fix iPhone Temperature Errors

Posted on: 04/20/2023

Suddenly you see an error message come across your iPhone screen and it states that your phone’s temperature is too high or something to that effect. You do not need to panic as the solution can be something quite simple and something that you can do on your own too.

Below, we will discuss some of the ways that you can fix a temperature-related error that appears on your iPhone. It is important to remember though that an overheated phone can lead to logic board damage, which can then become catastrophic and may result in serious damage to your phone.

Let’s take a look at what you can do to reduce the temperature of your iPhone.

Step 1: Remove the iPhone From Its Current Conditions

If your iPhone is displaying a temperature-related error, this means that the phone is becoming overheated, and you want to eliminate the conditions that are causing this issue quickly. Apple has recommended that the iPhone’s optimum temperature is between 32 to 95 degrees Fahrenheit while operating and -4 to 113 degrees Fahrenheit when it is not operating. Once you have removed the phone from its current setting, allow it to equalize to the new environment.

Step 2: Try to Turn the Phone On

Once the phone has had a chance to cool down, you will need to press the home button to see whether the temperature error is still present or if it has disappeared.

Step 3: Test the iPhone

You will now need to test out the functionality of the iPhone to see if your phone is operating normally or if damage has occurred. If you are able to use the phone and it is not behaving abnormally, the damage has likely been avoided. However, if you continue to receive an error, you will need to continue to troubleshoot the device.

Step 4: Reboot the Phone

You will need to reboot your device and hold down the sleep button until you see a red slide bar pop up on the screen. Wait for your phone to turn off. Turn the phone back on and allow it to boot up completely.

Step 5: Use the Phone

Attempt to use your phone to assess what errors you continue to receive or to see what has been affected by the temperature issue. If you continue to receive the error, continue on with the troubleshooting steps.

Step 6: Have Your Device Looked At

Your device may have suffered some internal damage and you do not want to continue to try to mess with it. If you continue to receive the temperature error message, it is best to take the phone to an experienced iPhone technician to look it over.

It is possible that the logic board has been compromised when the phone overheated. If your logic board has been damaged, you will notice that your phone does not work as it did before and you will have issues with the functionality of it. The longer the issue is allowed to sit, the more problems you will face. In fact, it may even progress to the point where your phone does not turn on at all.
