As the gig economy propels forward, many are looking for crafts they can learn in order to work on their own time and schedule. Some of the most popular trades people are learning include, repair services and task completion services. There are so many perks that people begin wondering why working full-time for any one employer, makes sense anymore.
As a gig economy worker, you can set your own hours, you can get paid-out daily for your work, you never need to request time-off, and you have excellent earnings potential on a per-hour basis. That said, you may be asking yourself how you can begin gaining these perks. It’s not as difficult as you may think!
Let’s discuss some ways in which you can attend phone repair schools or training academies to become a professional phone repair technician.
Cellular Repair School
Program
Cellular Repair School offers a 4-hour course where you learn everything you can possibly learn about cell phone and tablet repair. They start you off with learning about disassembling and reassembling devices. This is a good foundation to learn how to open, take apart, and put a device back together.
Next you learn about troubleshooting. The program gives you helpful tools like Flowcharts for Troubleshooting, what diagnostic equipment you can use, and understanding important topics like electronic circuits!
The last part of their program is the core of the knowledge you’ll need. It covers logic board repairs, micro-soldering, liquid damage recovery and board diagnostics! A lot to learn! But remember, not many people have this niche knowledge and there are many repairs that require someone with knowledge and experience to execute the repair successfully.
Price
The price is a bit steep coming in at $997 for the entire course. You have 3 months to access the 40 hours of content. They require a 70% or greater on the exams in order to pass and receive the certification.
Udemy
Here’s a list of Udemy’s top Cell Phone Repair Courses. Their bestseller at the time of this writing comes in at $149.99. Much cheaper than the Cellular Repair School. Many other courses will cost just $25 or less.
Udemy is a great resource if you’re looking to learn specific things related to cell phone repair. For example, you may have already mastered the newer versions of the iPhone but you aren’t quite sure how to conduct repairs for an iPhone 6. Udemy has niche courses that focus on specific product lines and brands (Android, iPhone).
TikTok
Short and sweet – there are a ton of videos showing technology repairs on TikTok. You may not learn the entire craft on this platform, but you can certainly reinforce much of the learning you do in the meantime.
